Common mistakes that affects responsive mobile conversion

You might think that as long as your mobile website is responsive and easy to navigate, then you are all set for good traffic and conversion rates. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. It is a known fact that mobile traffic surpasses desktop traffic and mobile use is on the rise. However, the conversion rates with mobile users are not going high like with desktop users. Having a responsive mobile design is not just enough for good conversion rates. Here are some common mistakes that can affect your mobile conversion rates.

Slow loading time
Slow loading time is a turn down when it comes to any website, be it mobile or desktop version. Slow web pages are an annoying problem in mobile sites. Mobile users also expect the same kind of pleasant browsing experience like that of a desktop version. These days the number of mobile users shopping online is increasing, and slow loading pages can affect your mobile conversion rate adversely. The saddest part is that you are not losing conversions from those who visit the site alone; the loss is magnified to other people by word as well.

Crowded design
A Busy mobile site design is not an appealing one. It is best to have a lean design with only those design elements that are essential. Minimalist should be the motto when it comes to mobile UX design. In the desktop version, multiple sliders, links, text blocks, images, top bar, ads, footer everything has to be considered. However, in the mobile version, there is no need of such visual richness. Design your mobile site in such a way that there is space between essential elements so that mobile users can have a quick navigation.

Minimal checkout process
If your conversion includes a checkout process, it is important to optimize the mobile version as well. To start with, keep the form filling minimal and don’t include any information that is not required for completing the transaction. Unlike the desktop, it is difficult to type on a mobile keyboard. Make the checkout process as simple as possible in the mobile version. It is also important to include an option for users to save data, so that he/she doesn’t have to go through the entire process once again if something unwanted happens.

Mobile usage is growing at a faster rate than desktop and any other media. More people are using mobile to access the internet than before, so it is utmost important to design mobile website is a simple and easy to use. If you don’t design your website mobile friendly, chances are there that cart abandonment increases and conversion rate decreases.
