Facebook rolled out food ordering option in the US

Facebook has officially announced that it is rolling out new food ordering feature to its users. The social media giant is partnering with various food delivery services so that Facebook users can place food delivery orders directly from a restaurant page. Facebook has been working for over a year on this feature and a few months back; it has been rolled out to some users as a part of testing it. However, now the feature is officially available to all users in the US.

Food delivery options like Five Guys, Jack in the box, Pappa John's, EatStreet, DoorDash, Olo, Delivery.com and a few others have been integrated. You can access the list of restaurants that offer delivery option by clicking the "Order food" section on Facebook.

Food ordering is a significant and long-term evolution phase of Facebook. Apart from its growth as a media company, now it has been into building e-commerce tools and functionalities most of which are directed towards implementing local and offline transactions.

The entire feature is managed with the Facebook application itself. You can search restaurants, check for reviews and place delivery and complete the transaction without leaving Facebook. The good thing is there are no additional transaction fees to use the feature. If you already have the login for a particular service, for example, delivery.com, you can use it for ordering food. If you don't have an account, it is easy for signing up as well without leaving Facebook.

The food ordering feature is a milestone for Facebook as people already use it for checking reviews and now things got a lot easier.
