Every Moto X (2014) Pure Edition in the U.S. is now receiving Android 5.1

No more waiting. No more asking or thumb twiddling. Every Moto X (2014) Pure Edition in the U.S. is getting the Android 5.1 OTA right now. Motorola’s David Schuster — who has been great about keeping us up to date with the progress — announced on Google+ that the flood gates have opened.
The update has already hit our phones, and if you go check yours now there’s a good chance you’ll be downloading the 440MB update as well. After it installs, you’ll notice several improvements — you can now do more in the quick settings page, there are new notification interruption options, and you can also clear the “heads-up” notifications while keeping them in the notification shade for later.
Motorola has also detailed dozens of general bugfixes and improvements, and there’s even a new gesture — a double “chopping” motion — to launch the flashlight without turning your phone on. Get to downloading, and share your experiences in our Moto X forum!
